I am a retired trained nurse (adult and children’s branches) and midwife. Having lived and worked in Southern Africa for many years I have also retired as a senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.
I have recently ended 15 years of work providing counselling in primary care and within the IAPT programme for the NHS. Currently, I am a counsellor running my own Counselling and Training Consultancy.
In addition to counselling training I hold a Diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling and Certificates in Trauma Management. I have more than 40 years of experience in Counselling.
I am an accredited counsellor with the Association of Christian Counselors which is part of the accredited register of the National Standards authority in the UK.
I practice using mainly humanistic, person centred approaches, often involving CBT and psychodynamic work and utilising therapeutic creativity as appropriate. Counselling is always person centred and tailor made to fit each person’s needs.
Inyanga (now called Nyanga) is a scenic area in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe where many go for rest, refreshment and restoration. The name Inyanga Counselling was born following many restorative visits to that area.
